about

the title "resurrection" stems mostly from the fact that some of the pieces on this album are re-imaginings/complete re-recordings of tracks from a project i had to abandon some 8 years ago, but, apart from "stranger", all the pieces are, in effect, brand new, and were all recorded/re-worked between January 5th and March the 2nd 2020. since i had a stroke last summer, i was also motivated to try and "clear the decks" of pieces i'd left un-finished, and to write some new pieces to reflect the effect the stroke has had on my state of mind.

during the production of this album i also lost a good friend, whose death has impacted heavily on all the people i know here in Perth, but heaviest of all on her partner, & it caused me to change direction with the music as a result. this album is therefore dedicated to them both. for Kate & Michael.
